In 2004, I came to Melbourne from Hong Kong as an international student — studying full-time, working part-time, determined to begin a new chapter of my life in this new place.
Becoming a lawyer wasn't always my dream. In fact, I chose to study law during a difficult time for my family, hoping only to bring my mother some comfort. Looking back, it was the best decision I've ever made.
Over the years — more than fourteen of them now — I've come to understand just how intimidating the law can feel for many people, especially for migrants and those who speak English as a second language. The system can seem complex, confusing, even daunting. I understand that feeling completely, because I've experienced it myself.
Later, I founded AMA Lawyers, because I firmly believe that behind every case is a real person — and very often, a family standing at an important turning point in their lives.
That is how I came to find my mission: to break down those barriers. Through multilingual service, clear and effective communication, and a genuinely client-centred approach, my greatest aspiration is for every client to feel heard, understood, and supported throughout the entire legal process.
I'm not just solving legal problems — I'm building relationships grounded in honesty, warmth, and trust, relationships that often last for years and even carry on to the next generation.
